About this event

Effective data packaging critically enables research data structuring, discoverability, and reuse, aligning with the NIH HEAL Initiative’s goals. This webinar will cover best practices across the research lifecycle stages, focusing on repository requirements and FAIR data principles.

Meet the Speakers:
  • Sarah Myer, MPH, MCHES–from the HEAL Stewards–will explain how structured data supports pain and addiction research, collaborations, and secondary data reuse, highlighting the importance of metadata in discoverability
  • Brienna Larrick, PhD, PMP–from the HEAL Platform–will outline key data package components, including file types, preferred formats, and mapping variables to standards like Common Data Elements (CDEs).

This session will include HEAL-specific successful data submission examples and a live Q&A, addressing data packing challenges. Attendees will also gain access to key resources, including:
  • Data Curation Costs for Submitting
  • The ICPSR Guide to Social Science Data Preparation and Archiving (6th ed.)
  • The NIH Pragmatic Trials Collaboratory Living Notebook
