[Collective Board Meeting] HEAL Data Ecosystem (HDE) Progress

Collective Board Meeting Summary: HEAL investigators would be interested in knowing about the HEAL data sets that are available and specifically their value proposition, e.g., what questions they could potentially answer. Several members agreed that a hackathon would be a good way to get people using the data and tools (HEAL Data Platform and HEAL Semantic Search). We have to look at the data to find questions that could be answered. Pilot grants for students/fellows could also get people using the data. 

 

In the broader pain & OUD community, people are interested in the AI readiness of the data, data that could be used for trainee or pilot projects, and data that could be translated into practice. These audiences would be interested in case studies. Conferences could provide an opportunity to reach a broader audience, specifically AHSR, Joint Statistical Meetings of the American Statistical Association, USASP, CPDD, ASAM, SMB, and ACCJH. Members suggested a newsletter to inform stakeholders about new data sets and the tools and resources available to support data reuse.
