About this event

This webinar explores the data reuse journey, providing perspective from a researcher who successfully conducted secondary analyses using existing datasets. Guest speaker Ravi Mathur, PhD, of RTI International, is a researcher specializing in biomedical data science, real-world data analysis, and cloud-based research platform use. He shares insights from his experience reusing shared datasets within the NHLBI BioData Catalyst (BDC) ecosystem that inform similar approaches within HEAL. While more HEAL-funded studies are maturing all the time and building a richer landscape of shareable data, hearing from researchers outside the HEAL Initiative can offer valuable perspective on how shared datasets can be leveraged to generate new findings, extend prior work, and develop novel research questions.
The webinar includes an overview of key HDE data reuse tools, such as the HEAL Data Platform and HEAL Semantic Search, and how they facilitate data discovery.
This session aims to inspire HEAL investigators and the broader research community interested in pain and opioid use disorder research to explore the HEAL Data Ecosystem, and consider how existing datasets can support new analyses and scientific discovery.
We conclude with a Q&A featuring the guest speaker and HEAL ecosystem experts. Attendees are invited to join our May data reuse hands-on tutorial for a deeper walkthrough of the HDE tools and step-by-step demonstrations of identifying and reusing HEAL datasets.
