Investigators may request funds toward data management and sharing in the budget and budget justification sections of their applications. This resource outlines considerations and provides a list of tools and guidance for developing a budget.

The HEAL Data 2 Action (HD2A) group developed a data management and sharing plan template that complies with NIH and HEAL data sharing policies for mixed methods research. While not required for use by the NIH, the HD2A Addiction and Chronic Pain template provides tailored suggestions for investigators in addiction and pain research.
